FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
About Mourning Glory Club
What is Mourning Glory Club?
Mourning Glory Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to supporting suicide loss survivors. We provide a 360-degree resource for those who have lost loved ones to suicide, offering support groups, educational programs, and a community where survivors can rid themselves of shame, guilt, and/or regret.
Why "Mourning Glory"?
Our name draws inspiration from the morning glory flower, which blossoms beautifully each morning and dies by nightfall, representing the unrequited love of those we've lost too soon. The prolific vines that take over entire buildings represent our community of survivors who rebuild and grow together.
Who runs Mourning Glory Club?
The organization was founded by Aleksei Archer, who lost her father to suicide in 2017. Like many of our team members, Aleksei transformed her personal experience with loss into a mission to support others on their healing journey.

How do I join a support group?
You can join by registering through our website. Note that some groups may have waiting lists, and we carefully match participants to ensure everyone gets the most appropriate support for their stage of grief.
What makes your approach different?
We combine compassion with authenticity, allowing space for both deep grief and healing laughter. We acknowledge that grief isn't always solemn and serious – sometimes it's messy, awkward, and even darkly humorous. Our approach embraces all of these aspects while maintaining respect for each person's unique journey.
Getting Started
Do I need to wait a certain amount of time before joining?
While there's no mandatory waiting period, we do structure our programs differently based on where you are in your grief journey. Some people need immediate support, while others may need time before engaging with a group. We'll help you determine what's right for you.
